Kindergarten Christmas Caroling

Today was the
Kindergarten Christmas Carol Sing
in Caden's Class

It started at 10:15
and ended at 10:21
It took me longer than that to walk to the school
but Caden was thrilled that we made it
so it was worth the hike.

They sang:

Jingle Bells
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
Santa's Helpers
Chocolate in My Stocking
and
We Wish you a Merry Christmas

Caden made his reindeer
have a black nose on purpose

"He's Comet mom, Comet is more cool than Rudolph"

Dang, I love this kid.

I tried to get a group shot in the end,
but we were standing in front of the window,
and all I had was the good old iphone
and no one really wanted to look
because there was so much chaos to watch in the room
Classic huh?

Then Caden headed off to the library
to read a Christmas story
and eat cookies
with his class

and Kenna, Cohen, and I
headed out the door for the
short
but it seemed really long

walk home.

Okay, its official...

He's a big kid now.

He lost his first tooth
(well...Aunt Holly pulled it out as it dangled by a thread)

He wanted her to pull it out
Because he wanted the tooth fairy money
but after she did it,
he did not think that it was his best idea.

He wanted me to take another picture,
but he was keeping an eye out
for Holly to come back
so he wouldn't look at the camera

Luckily he forgave her
two days later
or she wouldn't have forgiven me
for making her do it.

Little Eyes Upon You

While reading with Caden
(Kindergarten Homework)

We came upon this poem.

Little Eyes Upon You
by Edgar Guest

There are little eyes upon you
And they're watching night and day.
There are little ears that quickly
Take in every word you say.
There are little hands all eager
To do anything you do,
And a little boy who's dreaming
Of the day he'll be like you.

You're the little fellow's idol,
You're the wisest of the wise.
In his little mind about you
No suspicions ever rise.
He believes in you devoutly,
Holds that all you say and do
He will say and do, in your way,
When he's grown up just like you.

Typing it just now
it gave me shivers.

I feel the need to memorize it
and repeat it
and repeat it
and repeat it
to myself

so that I never forget
Never Never Forget
that they are watching,
they are learning,
they are taking in,
they are growing up

and the person they are watching
is me
and the person that they are imitating
is me

and the person that they turn to for comfort and safety
is me
and the person responsible for teaching them right from wrong
and love and kindness and patience
is me.

I need to
give more hugs
whisper more "I love you" secrets in little ears
tickle more tummies
use a quieter voice
be a better example of hard work
show them how to be grateful.

Help them to know that they are loved
by me
and their Daddy
and their Heavenly Father.

There are little eyes upon me.

It was good to be reminded.
So good to be inspired.

Now to get to work.

Oh Babies!

I explained to the Ultrasound Tech
That I still think its a huge joke sometimes
that they are going to laugh and tell me
that there is really just one

She laughed
and then proceded to show me
that it is no joke.

There are two baby heads.
Now both head down

We had an ultrasound last week
that a friend of ours that is a nurse did
She said two girls,
and we were shocked

We thought we were having a Chief and Lola

and then today
they said that Baby A

On the right

is a

measuring 20 weeks and 6 days

(my official due date says I am 20 weeks 4 days)

and Baby B

on the left

is a

measuring 20 weeks and 1 day

They said both looked great.

Don't ask me why,
but they gave me this
picture of my placenta

They call it a twin peak
This mean that there are two placentas
that are growing right next to each other
and have meshed up into a peak
with the sack seperating them going up the middle

Since they are both boys,
(or heck who knows)
they could be indentical
even with seperate placentas
and they will test the placentas after birth
to be able to tell for sure.

It was a tangle of arms and legs
and wiggles
and cute little feet.

Can't wait for the next ultrasound in one month.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

Oh the weather outside is frightful,

But the fire is so delightful

and since we've no place to go

Let it Snow

Let it Snow

Let it Snow

I did spend two hours in the tire store
with four rowdy children
because my car chose today
to get a flat.

but now that we are home
I am going to sit in the cozy chair
and read a book
as it snows out side.

P.S.- Got reamed out by my neighbor
for sliding the shovel along the sidewalk with one hand.
(This could in no way be considered shoveling)

I have several things to say about this

First-
I know my own limits, and I am not stupid

Second
-
the second she wants to come in and change over laundry
and change poopy bums and haul kids around and do all of the other things that I have to do in my life that are considered part of my job and are way more difficult physically, is the second that I start listening to people telling me what I should and should not do (i.e. push a half inch of snow around with a shovel.)

But dearest neighbor,
Thank you for your concern
I am fine

Logan turns 3 and Family Picture Attempts

This little guy
Logan
(our cousin)

had a big birthday party
to celebrate turning
the ripe old age of 3

He lives in Nephi
(his mom is Ryan's sister)
and we all were invited
to make the trek down to celebrate.

My kids loved it.
Pizza
Pinata
Toys
Cupcakes
What was not to love

Rylee
(Logan's sister)
entertained us all
with her superior chugging skills
(it was water, but she didn't care, she WANTED it)

Ryan's mom decided
that while we were all there
(all except Natalie and Family)
we should all take family pictures.
All of us in a tiny little room.
(can you tell how Logan felt about being taken from the party?)

Stephanie and Aliyah

Aaron, Grandpa Joe, Grandma Sandra, Steven, and Tiffany

Jake, Logan, Melanie, and Riley

and remember
my family's dysfunction?

in that is not possible for all of us to look at the camera
or have a semi normal look on our faces
all at the same time.
Cute huh?
Yeah, not really.

But
the cupcakes were excellent
and the pinata candy was too

fun was had by all
(just obviously not during the picture taking)

We can't wait
to go back to visit
Mel and Jake's new house
just not in the middle of snow storm this time please.

New Moon and the Ninja Turkey

You know when you try really hard
to do something cool,
and you just miss it,
or it takes hours
instead of presto there you go.

Caden had to disguise his Turkey
and take it back to school.

What else in the world would you make a turkey
besides a Ninja

Caden could not think of anything else.

This fun little project
took forever.

Its hard to cut a garbage bag
into a Ninja costume
that fits onto a turkey.

Mission accomplished
Pat on the back for me,

(after an hour and a half of cursing under my breath)

Then,
we thought
(Holly and I)
that embroidering New Moon shirts
wouldn't be that hard

get a couple of shirts,
throw them together
wear them to the movie
you know
Presto chango.

Mess

Mess ups
went through 6 shirts
to end up with three

Kim said
she preferred to think Jacob
couldn't keep his hands off her
while she was wearing this
(Thanks for trying to make us feel better Kim)

that we did not sew through
punch holes in
that were not crooked across the chest area
thus drawing undo attention.
Mess

I kept mine simple
for shear fear
that I anymore would mess it up further
and result in a do over

Pat on the back for Holly
(a little one for me)
for finally getting it right

and making the dang shirts
to wear to the dang movie.

Holly,
there is no one
I would rather curse with under my breath
than you.
While trying to figure out our crazy hair brained schemes
that always seem so simple
in the beginning.

Kenna Bear's Big Day

Kenna turned the big 4 Saturday.

So we had some pizza
then headed out to the Nickelcade.
Kenna had no clue what the Nickelcade was
but she was dang excited to go and get to it.

She got the hang of it pretty quickly.
She and her cousin Aliyah tagged teamed most of the games.

Princess B looks like a Vegas Veteran
She has her stool and her machine
what else could a girl need
(besides the nickels of course)

She shared her secrets with Aliyah,
and
man did they rake in the tickets.

Uncle Steven was kind enough
to chase Cohen around

until
he got really stinky,
then Uncle Steven said he was all mine again.
Lovely.

Then Uncle Philip and Aunt Laura
were brave enough to take him on.
Very brave.
It was VERY Stinky.

For some reason,
I only got pictures of half the crew that was there,
but
Kenna was taking this game playing business seriously
and I had to pretty much run to keep up.

She sweetly asked me an hour before her party started
if I remembered that she really wanted
an Ariel Cake.
Yeah,
first time I EVER heard that.
Luckily Dad,
and the Macey's Bakery
came through for us.

She was THRILLED with all of her gifts,
tried on her new pajamas,
and got to work with her whimsy kit

(thank you Rachel, Mac and Vienna)
right away.

As she was going to bed
she asked if
she could have her birthday again tomorrow.
when I laughed
she said
Okay, maybe next week.

What a kid huh?
Love this girl.
