The Adventures of a "Choc-o-wat" Lovin Boy

I came downstairs
and found
THIS
calmly sitting on the couch
watching a show.

I asked him what happened.

He looked at his hand for a second and said
"choc-o-wat"

"You ate chocolate?"
"Ya"
"See."

I cleaned up this Choc-o-wat Boy
and went into the office
to hide the bag of Hershey Kisses.

I walked back by the office two minutes later,
and
found
this.

"Cohen, what are you doing?!?!"

"Wan Choc-o-wat!"

Ryan got him down
and suggested that we throw out the Kisses.
Since no hiding spot was safe from
Choc-o-wat Boy

I was not crying! I had something in my eye!

My baby brother
Phlip,
well,
His name is Philip,

But we all call him Phlip,

Got Married
to
the Lovely Laura
this past weekend,

and of course I was in attendance.

Unfortunately,
my allergies were also
in attendance.

The second
my bum hit the chair
for the ceremony,
my eyes started itching,
then they started seriously burning.
I was trying to dab carefully
so I didn't ruin my makeup.

All this dabbing turned into serious rubbing.
I was starting to tear up.
I had to squint out of one eye
when Phlip and Laura made their entrance.

I had to get my contact out.
I took it out and stuck it in my mouth
(so it wouldn't dry out.)

Ahhh...
Relief.
Except now I couldn't see.
And my eyes were still streaming,
and my nose was still running.
I glanced up with one eye,
and Becky (my step mom)
saw me and made the
"you poor thing,"
"you are so sweet to be so emotional"

face
thinking I was sitting there bawling
over the ceremony.

I tried to sniffle up the snot,
and dry my eyes,
lest everyone think I was the
ONLY emotional idiot
in the entire room,
and when sniffling,
I swallowed my contact.

GREAT!

As we got downstairs and outside after the ceremony
people kept patting me,
and giving me
the look
.
(This is Mac's Father in Law teasing me)
This is me telling him
I REALLY did
have something in my eye!
and really,
How cliche to say
"I wasn't crying, I just had something in my eye!"

And now I couldn't see anything
unless I squinted like a pirate.

I was fully made up on the Right side,
and had not a stitch of makeup left on the left,
from all the
"crying."

It was not cute.
See Here before it was completely gone.

Luckily
Laura and Phlip
were more than cute enough for all of us.

They threw a beautiful and elegant reception,

and had some seriously good ice cream there,

and I went home with a migraine.

Because I could only see out of
one eye.

A day I'm pretty sure I'll never forget.

P.S. The Super Hero Give Away ends Friday Morning.

Once upon a time, in a land far far away... There was this gift basket to give away...

Introducing
Another Member of the Twinkle Bee Hive

Mary Ellen Workman
Is the creative genius behind
MG Inspires

Our Gift Basket Give Away for today

Featuring
one of her Princess Capes

The Pink one
to be exact.

But of course

if you have a little boy
who is in desperate need of a cape

as Saxon
(the little man in gray)
became
(modeling was not enough he NEEDED one!)
let me know
and we can order one for you.
and Mary will make it for you.
Because she is AWESOME like that.

and because really,
no super hero should have to exist
without a cape.

Mary knows things like this.
She has four super heroes and one princess of her own.

Mary
or
Mary Ellen,
or
Mary Hellen
or
Harry Melon
(as we have affectionately called her)
is my mom's younger sister,
so in fact she is
Our Aunt Mary.

But after my mom died
she became
the closest thing I had to a mom.
She has come to
every
graduation,
Wedding,
baby being born,
and significant event
in my life.

She even took herself right over to Europe
to meet me in Austria
after I got done in Romania
so we could travel around together.
Mmm...
that was an unforgettable adventure.

Mary's talents do not only extend to making capes.
The woman has never met something she couldn't master.
You ready for this list?
I am not lying about a single one of these things.

She makes
Wedding Cakes
Wedding Dresses
Prom Dresses

Baby Blessing Dresses
(This was Kenna's)
All the costumes for the high school drama department.
(anything that you can sew, she can sew better, I promise!)

She also is an amazing artist
who draws and paints.
I told her I needed a little name sign for Cohen's Room
She knows his favorite thing to say is "Buggy!"
So she came up with this!

She crochets

(she is the one that makes the darling crochet edge blankets
in the Twinkle Bee Blanket Shop)

She is an amazing cook
but she has this rock solid will power
and she hasn't eaten sugar in YEARS.
So half the time,
she doesn't even eat what she cooks.
Yeah well, we sure do.

Her kids love her,

my kids love her.
When she is in town
I do not even get to buckle their car seats.
They want Aunt Mary to do it.

She has two sons that are married,
(one darling Grandaughter, and one on the way)
one that is currently serving a mission
one senior in high school
(that is about to graduate as valedictorian of his class,)
and her Baby Girl is in Eighth Grade.

Busy lady huh?
Yeah,
but she always has time for creativity,
and fun,
and for me and my family.

I
love her
love her
love her

and her crazy amounts of talent.

I am currently trying to convince her
to put her blessing dresses
and artwork up on Twinkle Bee.

We shall see if I am victorious.
She is very humble about her gifts,
and SHE SHOULDN'T BE!
She rocks.

You love the capes?
Yes you do!
Comment to win one.
Comment to order one.

You know the drill.
COMMENT!

You could be seeing these darling backsides
lined up against your fence!

Also one million and five thanks to Rachel Jones
my UBER talented sister in law
for taking the pictures
and volunteering her daughter and her cape
for the photo shoot.
She is the creater and genious behind
Black Eiffel
(even Martha Stewart thinks she's cool)
Check her out.
You won't be sorry.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

The winner of the Rag quilt is...

Jenae

who said

Glad I found your blog and learned about TwinkleBee and Apron Shop, I sure hope I win an adorable rag quilt! I was just admiring someone's last night, dreaming of it for my new little baby boy.

I am assuming Jenae,
that you want one for a boy,
but please let me know if I am wrong.
I will get with Holly Doll,
and let her know what you want.
(Who am I kidding,
spoken to her twice on the phone
just this morning,
and going to meet her at Target in an hour.)
So we're slightly inmeshed,
whatever
She'll whip one up for you.

Please email me your address at

Gift Basket Numero Dos

Holly has graciously agreed
to donate one of her rag quilts
for the Gift Basket today.

She said that if you win,
you can choose one
for a boy,
or
for a girl.

This basket will be fabulous!
How could it not be
with The Holly Doll in charge?

How talented is my sister Holly?
You have no idea.

Seriously.

She makes stuff up all the time.
and while I smile and nod,
I am ashamed to admit,
sometimes I don't catch the vision.

Like the time that she was sewing place mats together
to make a table runner.

What?

And then she shows me the finished product
and I wonder
how the heck she thought that stuff up
Much less actually created it.

And then I instantly want to rip it off
and make one for me,
because it is just that cool.

She is one of the original creators of Twinkle Bee.
And you better believe
that she has her hand in almost every pot.
She helps me make aprons.
She helps Caitlin make bracelets.
She makes all kinds of quilts.
She helps run and update the website,
and she personally created the apron shop,
and put all the pictures on there.

Holly
affectionately known as Holly Doll,
or just Doll
is my younger sister by 21 months.
But you would think she was my older sister
because she is way more responsible
way more organized
and way more on top of her game than I am.
She is married to Cory

Who is the smartest, hardest workin nurse
I ever did meet.
Two full time nursing jobs at seperate Hospitals, and school.
He is my husbands best friend.
It worked out good that way.

Holly was into sucking people's blood
way before
it was as cool as it is now that Edward does it.
She is a senior tech and Phlebotomy Supervisor
at American Fork Hospital.
She has worked there longer than I have known
what a full time job is.

Her other full time job is
Princess B

otherwise known as her 3 almost 4 yr old
Brynley.

Bryn has earned the title of Princess.
She had a feeding tube until 6 months
Open Heart Surgery at 10 months
Cancer at 18 months
and too many tests and scans since.

And because Holly not only survived this
But has thrived...
She has earned the title
of Queen Bee
in this Twinkle Bee hive.

You want to win this blanket and other goodies in the basket.
I promise.
They make great shower gifts or birthday gifts,
even if you don't have a baby in your house right now!

Holly also takes custom orders
and has a CRAZY huge array of fabrics.
You want it, she can make it,
and it will turn out even better than you thought it would.
I can promise you that!

And the winner is...

Ashley Henderson
Who said
You're aprons are so darling!
I hope I win!

Sorry Ashley if I didn't spell your last name right,
I know you best with the Meyers last name. :-)
I need you to email me at andrea.price1@comcast.net
with your address so I can get out to you.

Congratulations!

Think of it as a happy baby, and a happy birthday gift basket!
So glad you commented,
so glad you came to visit the blog!

Check back for the new gift basket tomorrow!
Remember,

The Great Gift Basket Giveaway Begins Today!

First, many many thanks to

The Twinkle Bee work force.
They gave me awesome ideas on how this should go down,
and you know, donated the goods.

Every day (maybe two to give everyone a chance to enter)
I will be highlighting
a different Twinklebee Handmade specialty
,
and its creator.

I have been begging and begging...

I just asked everyone nicely
and they graciously said

(and well, mostly because I already have one ready)
Is an Apron from Handi Andi's Apron shop.

Are you excited?
Well you should be.

Handi Andi
(my sister made up this moniker and it kinda stuck)
is a busy busy mom of three
who works part time
at a Treatment Center for Teenage Girls
called New Haven.

This is what she looks like most days.
Hair in a pony tail,
forget the make up.
(I mentioned busy mom part right?)
She loves antiques, red glass, sewing,
DIY projects, reading, blogging,

traveling, gardening.
hanging out with her seriously hot husband,
and playing with her kids.
She's pretty much the luckiest lady in the world.
Check out her apron shop on Twinkle Bee
and comment on her blog.
(this makes her very happy)

So here are the Rules.
(Yeah, I know, sorry to have to get technical.)

If you want to win the awesomeness that is posted that day

If you post on your blog about the contest.
Comment again and let me know.
I will check it out,
and you will be entered again.

The winners will be announced
